The Vibes

The four emotions or vibes Peach can experience are:

Joy - Makes Peach fly up when you hold the A button and whirlwind down and say "Whee!" when you release the A button. The flying move is good for reaching Toads that are imprisoned in high places, and the whirlwind does wonders with making windmills go around and raise blind-like barriers. Any enemy she comes into contact with while joyful is instantly destroyed. The whirlwind she creates also comes in handy to dispel fog and toxic air, and get rid of bouncy cloud-like barriers that usually block her way to a Toad.

Calm - Restores Peach's HP slowly, while draining her Vibe Gauge. It's great for parts of stages where strong enemies are swarming and there are few Hearts around. Just make sure you're safe from said enemies before you start the Calm vibe--if Peach is attacked during Calming, the process will be halted.

Gloom - Makes Peach cry twin fountains of tears, and run very fast when you direct her left or right with the D-pad. Her tears make little two-leafed plant sprouts grow into beanstalk-like ladders, and her anguished running gets her across treacherous or precarious landscapes quickly and easily. Also, when Peach cries near a water wheel, the wheel will go around and usually enable a pipe to be traveled through. One other use for her tears is to make the ground slippery in icy conditions, which is useful for shimmying under a long, tight space.

Rage - Inflames Peach and makes her stomp when landing from a jump. The flames are good for blipping off a lot of enemies and melting ice, while the stomp serves as a way to punch big switches. The heat generated also powers hot-air balloons and propels them upward.
